With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of one of our own, Michael J. Ruddick. Michael left us one day before his 54th birthday, April 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service, camaraderie, and quiet dedication.

Michael was a Captain (retired) with the New York City Fire Department.

A proud member of the Class of 1989, Michael carried the values of our community with him into his life of service. He answered the call to defend his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard, a testament to his courage, discipline, and love for his fellow citizens.

We remember him not only as a veteran and firefighter, but as a friend and a classmate whose presence helped shape the spirit of the 1989 graduating year.

Funeral Arrangements

To honor Michael’s life, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence The Martyr Church on Saturday, October 25, at 9:30 AM. We invite all friends, classmates, and community members to join in paying our final respects and offering support to his family and loved ones.

Please note that the service will conclude at the church; there will not be a committal service at the parish cemetery following the Mass.

As we come together to celebrate Michael’s life, we reflect on the memories we shared and the impact he had on all who knew him. His journey among us was a testament to a life of purpose, and he will be profoundly missed. We will continue to share additional information as it becomes available.
