You may have noticed our birthday remembrance posts haven’t been looking like they used to. The link to the memorial page and the photo that used to appear with each remembrance aren’t showing up the way they should!

I want to explain what’s going on, because you deserve to know.
Facebook has been changing the rules for pages like ours. They’ve begun limiting how many posts can include a link to somewhere outside of Facebook– about two such posts a month for a page that doesn’t pay them. If we want to post more links than that, we’d apparently have to buy one of their monthly plans, which run from about $50 up to $500 a month. That’s money we simply don’t have and even if we did, would not be a reasonable option.
The old workarounds don’t help, either. Putting the link in the first comment instead of the post counts against the limit just the same. The only links that don’t count are links to Facebook’s own features; their Events, Groups, and Reels.
On top of that, Facebook has been having a separate problem displaying link previews on automated posts like our remembrances, so even the links that do go out often show up without the picture and preview card you’re used to seeing.
Here’s what hasn’t changed: the remembrances are still going up every day. We are not stopping, and we are not going quiet. We’re looking into every reasonable option to get things displaying properly again — because these remembrances matter, and our classmates and their families deserve to be honored the right way.
Thank you for your patience, and thank you for remembering with us every day.
