The South Shore’s heaviest flooding lines up with the high tides: 9 to 11 this morning, 9 to 11 tonight, and again 9 to 11 Sunday morning. West Sayville is forecast for major impacts at more than one of these tides.

Governor Hochul has declared a state of emergency for Suffolk County. Expected through Sunday: one to three feet of inundation in low-lying coastal areas, 15-foot surf, and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Stay off the roads if you can, and check on neighbors who might need a hand. Stay safe out there, Sayville.
