In Loving Memory of James Alfred Otto, Class of 1963

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of James Alfred Otto, Class of 1963, as kindly communicated to us by his daughter, Kimberly Otto. Mr. Otto left us on June 27, 2025, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

The Roma Funeral Home at 539 William Floyd Parkway
Shirley, NY 11967, has prepared a touching obituary in his honor, which we have included below for those who wish to pay their respects and celebrate his life.

Our thoughts are with the Otto family during this difficult time. May cherished memories bring comfort and peace.

It is with great sadness we announce that James Alfred Otto of East Patchogue passed away, at the age of 80, on Friday June 27, 2025.

James originally from Sayville, New York was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who proudly served our country during the Vietnam war.

Upon his honorable discharge, James spent the remainder of his life as one of Long Islands finest custom in-ground gunite swimming pool builders.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Judy Kaikaka, Deborah Orban children Jim Otto Jr, Lisa Richardson, Heather Otto, Kim Otto and Grandchildren Carolyn Otto, Hannah Wilson, Brian Wilson, and Abigail Gardella.

Predeceased by his mother and father Florence and Stanley Otto siblings, Walter Otto, Florence Saar and Lawrence Otto.

Jim’s kindness and generosity were overwhelming. He always tried his best to take care of his family and friends.

He loved collecting classic cars especially Pontiac’s and was a firm believer that fast cars looked good going slow.

Jim hated wasting daylight, never missed an episode of Jeopardy, loved doing the hustle and never went half – out!

In his eyes nobody could keep up to him.

Upon Jim’s transition into the nursing home, his 3 Shitzus Madie, Milo and Sophie were fortunately taken in by yorkie911 rescue.
