With heavy hearts, the Sayville Alumni Association shares the heartbreaking news of the passing of our fellow alumna, Holly Sciarpelletti, a proud member of the Sayville High School Class of 1988. Holly passed away on December 26, 2025, and her loss is being felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Holly passed away from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in Henry County, TN, a tragic and sudden loss that has shaken many communities.
Holly lived a life rooted in compassion and service. She went out of her way, every chance she got, to make sure others were taken care of—often quietly, never seeking recognition. Her giving spirit extended beyond her family and friends into her professional life as well. Holly was a longtime special education teaching assistant with Wilson County Schools in Tennessee, where she was deeply valued and loved by students and colleagues alike.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Katie Murrell (Mike Murrell) and Anthony Hutchinson, as well as her cherished grandson, Zayn Murrell, who lovingly called her Nonna and was truly her greatest joy. Her love for her family was boundless, and her role as a mother and grandmother defined so much of who she was.
During this incredibly difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been established to help Holly’s family with funeral and hospital expenses, in hopes of easing the financial burden they are facing as they grieve this unimaginable loss. If you are able, please consider supporting the family by visiting:

Holly will be deeply missed—as a mother, a grandmother, an educator, a classmate, and a friend. Her kindness, selflessness, and love will live on in the many lives she touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who are mourning her loss.
