We are saddened today to learn of the passing of of Geraldine Maier (Stevenson) Hoek, Class of 1948.  During this very challenging time, our hearts go out to her family, friends and classmates.  Geraldine married her SHS sweetheart Richard Hoek (SHS Class of 1944), who predeceased her.

Geraldine S. Hoek, 94, of Sayville, NY, died on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Geraldine was a resident of Bayport, formerly of Sayville and a graduated of Sayville High School (Class of 1948). 

She was a very active member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Sayville her entire life and worked as the Secretary for the Cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.

Mrs. Hoek is survived by her four children, Peter and his wife Kathleen of Medford, Karen Tampellini and her husband Wayne of East Patchogue, James and his wife Cathy of Sayville and John and his wife Barbara of Bayport, seven grandchildren, Brendan, Meghan, Christopher, William, Jessica, Stephanie, and David, as well as her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Kyle, Conner, Lillian, Nathan and Camden. She was predeceased by her husband Richard (SHS Class of 1944) in 2007 and by her granddaughter Brittany.

Friends and relatives will gather on Tuesday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Sayville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
