The passing of David Mark Halversen
It is with a heavy heart that the Sayville Alumni Association acknowledges the recent passing of one of our own, David.
Though our records do not hold his photo or details, we wish to extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends as they mourn this loss. A graduate of Sayville High School, he will always be remembered as part of our community.
In hopes of honoring his memory more fully, we kindly ask if anyone is able to share his graduation year and perhaps a photograph. For those wishing to read his obituary, one has been shared by the Raynor and D’Angelo Funeral Homes:
David Mark Halversen, passed away on December 31, 2025. A graduate of Sayville High School, David moved to Lake Ronkonkoma in 1996. Dave worked for Brookhaven Instruments for 35 years and then moved to Behlman Electronics. Dave spent much of his time camping and being outdoors with his son Jacob, where they would fish and kayak. David was a knife enthusiast and avid collector and had a strong interest in exotic pets, owning tarantulas, snakes, and assorted lizards. He also loved his dogs, especially his German Shephards. Dave also enjoyed horror movies, he and his son Jacob would watch one a night for the entire month of October, leading into Halloween.
He is survived by his son Jacob, his wife Melissa, his brother Robert and his wife Linda, his sister Katherine Jackson and her husband Shawn, and his father Elliot. He is predeceased by his mother Grace.
Visitation- Thursday January 8, 2026 from 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at our West Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St.
