We are saddened to learn of the passing of Carol A. (Szuflada) Straley, Class of 1976 on August 19, 2025 at age 68 in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. 

During this very challenging time, our hearts go out to Carol’s her family, friends, colleagues and students.

Carol A. Straley, 68, of Saylorsburg, PA passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2025 in St. Lukes Hospital-Monroe Campus.

Born in Maspeth, New York on July 22, 1957 she was the daughter of John and Anna Szuflada (Wisniewski). She was the loving wife of Daniel Straley who she married in 1982.

In keeping with Carol’s wishes services will be private with her immediate family.

A memorial page has been created in Carol’s honor.  The Sayville Alumni Association will remember her annually on her birthday, July 22nd.  We hope this remembrance will provide solace for those who knew and loved Carol.
