The Courage to Change Your Mind — The Harmony Project
This week’s Harmony Project essay from Tom Van Wyen asks an uncomfortable question: when was the last time you changed your mind about something important?
Tom spent his career in rooms where someone was assigned to be the “designated challenger” — the person whose job was to ask “why” until the assumptions broke. Now he puts that same question to politicians at local forums: “Can you tell me about a time you changed your mind, and what led you to do so?” The silence, he says, is usually the answer.
“The Courage to Change Your Mind” is a short, thoughtful read on curiosity as a measure of character — and it closes with three questions worth sitting with.
