Take a journey back in time…

It’s Sayville High’s own newspaper, “The Blotter”.

We learn a little bit of “Blotter History” from this 1946 SHS Yearbook article (page 54).

Do you have a copy of one of the missing?  If not listed below, then we don’t have it.  Can you scan and send to us or we will scan it for you!

Notes:

Glenn Pearson, Class of 1969 was co-editor-in chief 1967-1968 and editor-in-chief 1968-1969.   Glenn stated;

“We had a great team of editors and writers. That was in the old days when Suffolk County News did the old Linotype lead prep for the text.

In my first year as editor, we shifted from that nice glossy paper stock to newsprint stock that turns yellow in about four days ?.   I guess it was a budget issue!

I got ‘in trouble’ with them on the very first issue when I was editor because we misjudged spacing and sent about 50% too many stories. They had typeset all that and then had to melt it all down.”
