Pulse Check: Are there Sayville Alumni in VR?

(Alumni, Teachers, Staff or even current students)?

This is a bit of a long shot, but here goes…

Do you have a VR headset?  Use it for virtual travel or watching 3D movies on a giant virtual screen?  It occurred to me that there might be others out there doing the same thing.

You know that feeling when you’re standing on the West Sayville Dock at sunset? Or, when the sand is warm under your feet at Sailors Haven? What if Sayville Alumni spread around the world could get together… right from the comfort of our own living rooms?

So, here’s the idea:

I’m thinking of hosting a low-key “Virtual Gathering” for anyone connected to Sayville Alumni… whether you graduated from Sayville Schools, taught in the classrooms, or kept the halls running as staff. If Sayville is part of your story, you’re invited.

The Where:

We could pick a local spot via Bigscreen, build a campfire in Horizon Worlds, find a quiet beach in VR Chat, or even cast a line together on a virtual fishing trip.

The What:

A casual hangout with a side of nostalgia. I’d love for us to share old photos, yearbook gems, Barrett Beach memories, Main Street back in the day. Basically, any excuse to flip through the good old days together.

To make the photo sharing easy, I’ll set up a shared Google Album ahead of time. If you have digital photos, you can upload them there before we meet. 

No agendas, no pressure—just a chance to hop into a virtual world, share some laughs, and talk about everything from the best pizza on Main Street to that one teacher who changed your life.

If you’re a Sayville alumni, teacher, or staff member with a headset (Meta Quest, PSVR2, Valve Index, PCVR—anything goes!) who would be down for this — whether for the conversation, the photo sharing, or just to reconnect with a classmate another Sayville Alumni who now lives in Japan, Malaysia or never left Sayville, please react or comment below!
