Vet Spotlight: Linda Ann Cromwell, Class of 1973

Linda Ann Cromwell Class of 1973

I am Linda Ann Cromwell, a veteran of the United States Army. I completed my education at Sayville High School in 1973 and enlisted in the Army in 1976, serving as a 43E Parachute Rigger.

During my service, I was granted a Top Secret Clearance and was assigned to the Army Military Intelligence Security Command in Washington, D.C.

I had the privilege of working at the Pentagon for the Army Discharge and Review Board under President Jimmy Carter. Currently, I am actively involved in various veterans’ organizations and serve as the seamstress for the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club in Florida.

Additionally, I participated in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., and have been recognized by the Florida Panthers Hockey Group as a “Hero Among Us” on two occasions.

I am also honored as a Hometown Hero, with my photograph displayed on a banner in my community, and my name is inscribed on the glass panels at our Veterans Park.

Every day is truly Veterans Day when we consider the lasting impact of their sacrifices. While November 11th serves as a reminder, the courage and commitment of veterans deserve our recognition year-round. Their service has shaped our freedom and security, and it’s a call to honor them not just with words, but with continued support and gratitude every day.

At Sayville Alumni,
every day, is Veterans Day!
