Yesterday, we were researching Josephine Budenos, Class of 1928 and included a clipping about her dad, John Budenos, the Sayville dairy farmer. We asked, “Have you heard of Budenos Drive in Sayville?”

We were so excited when Mary Jane McKenna shared childhood memories of skating and playing on the farm.

Then, Kathleen Chandler shared a fantastic photograph of the Budenos Dairy Barn on Broadway Avenue in Sayville which was taken by Gwendoline Fish Chandler in May 1963. Kathleen also shared a memory of her grandfather, who loved to go and “smell the cows”.
