In Loving Memory of Dolores (Harrison) Driscoll,
Sayville High School, Class of 1949.

There are some lives that quietly shape a community, not through grand gestures or headlines, but through steady kindness, warmth, and presence. Dolores Harrison Driscoll was one of those lives.

A proud graduate of Sayville High School’s Class of 1949, Dolores remained deeply connected to the Sayville community for more than sixty years. In a place known for its shoreline beauty, its small-town charm, and its strong sense of neighborly care, she reflected those values in the way she lived each day. She was the kind of person who made others feel welcome, remembered, and valued.

Dolores passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by devotion, resilience, and love. She shared 68 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Arthur, a remarkable partnership built on commitment, laughter, and unwavering support. Their life together stood as a beautiful example of enduring love until his passing in 2022.

She found joy in life’s simple but meaningful pleasures. She loved tending her garden, spending quiet time reading, watching the birds, and hosting tea parties that brought family together. These were not just hobbies, but expressions of who she was. She created spaces where people felt at ease and moments that became lasting memories.

Her daughter, Colleen, also a Sayville High School alumna, shared these heartfelt words:

“She had a wonderful sense of humor and was truly loved by all that knew her. Thank you for everything, Mom. Rest easy. I love you and miss you already.”

Dolores is survived by her children, Dolores Collins and her husband Gerard, Mary Cassidy and her husband Vincent, Arthur and his wife Phyllis, Colleen Caravella and her husband John, and Virginia and her husband John. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, each one carrying forward a part of her spirit, her strength, and her love.

In Sayville, we often speak of community as something special, something that endures across generations. Dolores Driscoll was part of that enduring fabric. Her life reminds us that the true beauty of Sayville is not only found in its landscapes, but in its people, especially those who give of themselves so freely and so quietly.

She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever a cherished part of the Sayville story.
