Did You Know; Two hundred and forty years ago, in 1786, the Legislature passed an act permitting William Nicoll, the then proprietor of the Nicoll patent, to sell to Willett Green and John Edwards the neck of land between two creeks emptying into the Great South Bay which comprises the territory now occupied by the village of Sayville.
