This photo, captured about 2013 at Lake of the Ozarks, encapsulates the enduring friendship of Jon Ball (left) and Dan Berg.  

It was forged in Kindergarten at Cherry Avenue Elementary School and in their shared neighborhood adventures.  Post Sayville High (Class of ’72), it remained strong over six decades.

Through life’s seasons, they shared laughter, loyalty, and countless adventures. From clamming lessons on the Great South Bay—where Jon was not just a friend but Dan’s patient mentor, to lakeside moments, their bond remained unshakable. 

Though Jon’s light now shines from beyond, their story reminds us that lifelong friendships leave imprints on the heart, shaping legacies that outlast time.
