When Joseph Francis Acker was born on February 4, 1914, in New York City, New York, his father, Joseph, was 24 and his mother, Clara, was 25. He married Maejean Gonsalves on April 17, 1939. They had three children during their marriage. He died on February 19, 2000, in Pensacola, Florida, at the age of 86.
