Audra Woodruff Smith kindly sent us this photograph about this mornings event on Cherry Avenue Elementary honoring Emily Teresa Finn.
Thank you so much Audra! Though I wasn’t able to be there in person, I can only imagine how beautiful it was… a gathering that brought people together in a spirit of love, remembrance, and purpose.
From what Audra shared, it was a truly fitting tribute to Emily. It honored her memory in a way that was both personal and meaningful, ensuring that her life and legacy are remembered with the dignity and warmth she deserves. Events like this keep her spirit present in our community, and that is a gift to everyone who knew her.
Beyond the remembrance itself, the event also shined a much-needed light on domestic violence… a subject that too often goes unspoken. By bringing it into the open, it served as a reminder of why awareness matters, why victims and survivors need our support, and why silence is never, never the answer.
With appreciation, Your Sayville Alumni Association Board of Directors
