Would anyone be interested (or do you know someone who might be interested) in pulling together a small biography of Patty, for our Endless Waves alumni series?
Over on Facebook, we announce birthday remembrances every day. Below, I have copied and pasted some of the comments on a recent remembrance for Patricia Ann “Patty” Kubelle, Sayville High Class of 1970.
A lot of folks left lovely messages remembering Patty and also discussing the music award in her honor that is bestowed upon a new graduate each year.
I am curious if someone might be interested (or do you know someone who might be interested) in pulling together a small biography of Patty, for our “Endless Waves” alumni series? Anyone?

Her beautiful voice and her legacy lives on! Her scholarship recipient this year is a talented young woman named Paige Gaiser-almost 50 years later. RIP Patricia ?

I was the first recipient of the Patricia Ann Kubelle Memorial Vocal Music Award in 1973. The plaque still hangs on the wall of Sayville High School. An honor, indeed.

Carolyn Peterson I was the recipient of the Patricia Ann Kubelle Memorial Vocal Music Award in 1989. I’d love to see the plaque on the wall of the HS! ??❤️

This is the plaque. I have a close-up of it somewhere but it’s probably just a close-up of my name. Sorry about that. But, yeah, it’s up and we’re all on it – from 1973 to the present.
May be an image of 1 person, standing and indoor

I knew her. She was a kind, bubbly, talented, smart person who was taken way too early in her life. She was in college. Her passing greatly effected me.

Dawn Bradshaw we watched such an amazing lady… we watched Patty sing and perform in… was it Brigadoon? Her tragic passing was shocking and hard to really believe. I remember the day I heard the horrible news.

Though I did not know or meet “Patty” Kubelle, I have always been impressed how her legacy has continued by her family and her sister; Susan, whom I do know and graduated High School together. The thought of the musical talent (singing) which “Patty” had at her age and to have lost her life, is immeasurable. Peace.
