Wayne Preston Brown, Class of 1958

This page is in Memorium of Wayne Preston Brown, Class of 1958.

It is a “living” Memorium, meaning that you are encouraged to please send in photographs, remembrances, and other media (audio, video, documents, etc.,) to help remember and honor Wayne.

We start out with his senior photo from Sayville High School.   Below, at 122 Rollstone Ave., West Sayville, NY, is where Wayne lived with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Brown.

A remembrance of Wayne P. Brown by Bill Faller

I first met Wayne in the Summer of 1957 when my family was moving into our new house at 152 Rollstone Ave.

He was doing odd jobs for the builder and came by several times during that Summer. He was very friendly and spent time telling me about West Sayville. Mostly he talked about hunting for rabbits in the woods behind my house. The locals called that area Rabbit City.

Over the next couple of years, I saw him several times with his hunting vest and gun. He always stopped to say hello.

In late ’59, they removed the woods and put in houses. I didn’t see much of him after that.

And then, I saw the terrible news in the paper.
