The Sayville Alumni Association extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and classmates of William Edwin Egner Jr., Sayville High School Class of 1957, who passed away on August 6, 2026, in Rutland, Vermont.

He was born November 22, 1939, the son of William and Mildred Egner. He served in the United States Navy. He married Judith, and they had two children, Cheryl and Karen.  

Bill worked for Grumman for 38 years as a Program Manager. He loved being in the great outdoors spending time with his friends and family hiking, skiing, boating, fishing, and most of all home improvements.

Thank you to our historian Erick Baumeister for his continued research and for bring William’s passing to our attention. The Sayville Alumni Association will remember William every year on his birthday with a remembrance posting.
