Sayville Retired Teachers reports; It is with sadness we announce the passing of Andrea Nocito on September 5. She was born on September 5, 1978 and had taught both kindergarten and first grade at Sunrise Drive elementary school.

Visitation: Bryant Funeral Home, East Setauket, 9/8 6-8, 9/9 2-4, 6-8. Services will be at St. James RC Church, 9/10 @ 10:45am, Setauket. The family has chosen to send donations to: ALS UNITED GREATER NY.

Andrea Nocito, of Long Island, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, in Port Jefferson, New York. She was born on September 5, 1978, in West Islip, New York.
Andrea was the beloved wife of Rob Nocito, with whom she shared a loving marriage since October 1, 2000. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and the many memories they created along the way. She was the devoted mother of Ady Nocito, who was the pride and joy of her life.
Andrea will be remembered as a loving daughter to Rosemary and Allen Cottrell and a cherished sister to Robert Cottrell. She was also dearly loved by her in-laws, Linda and Robert Nocito, and by her brothers and sister in-law Michael Nocito, and Chris and Danielle Nocito.
A dedicated educator, Andrea spent her career as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher. She had a special gift for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and discover the world around them. Her patience, warmth, and caring nature made teaching much more than a professionit was a reflection of who she was.
Outside of the classroom, Andrea found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with her family. She enjoyed boating, shopping, and, perhaps most famously, buying shoes. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with the people she loved.
Andrea’s life was rooted in the love she had for her family. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend, she touched the lives of many and leaves behind memories that will continue to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, always.
