Remembering Lorraine Alison Boyle, Class of 1973

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Lorraine Alison Boyle, who died on September 27, 2025, at the age of 70. Known to her friends and family as Alison, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, former classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alison was born on August 19, 1955, in Bay Shore, New York, to her parents, Doris and Joseph Boyle. Growing up in West Sayville, she was a very active member of the Girl Scouts, often guided by her mother, Doris, who served as a dedicated troop leader. Alison was part of a large and well-known West Sayville family; she is survived by her four brothers—Kenneth, Leonard, Russell, and Larry—all of whom remain well-known and respected members of our community today.

While she moved to Florida during her senior year of high school, Alison always remained a proud member of the Sayville Class of 1973. A dedicated veteran, she served her country with honor and later became a longtime resident of Sacramento, California. In her later years, Alison faced several health challenges and ultimately passed away at the Martinez VA Medical Center is in Martinez, Contra Costa County, California.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Judi Hone McHugh and Kenneth Boyle for their kindness in sharing these details and childhood memories, allowing us to honor Alison with this tribute.

Also to the right is a special look back at her childhood in West Sayville; Alison is pictured in the yellow dress alongside her dear friend, Judi Hone McHugh (maiden name Hone), in front of their neighborhood playhouse.

While there was no formal obituary published at the time of her passing, her memory is cherished by all who knew her as a kind, resilient, and spirited individual. We invite our fellow alumni to share their memories of Alison below to help keep her spirit alive in our community.
