The Sayville Alumni Association mourns the loss of Katherine C. (Maasch) Dasch, a member of the Class of 1959, who passed away on July 5, 2026.

We share in the sorrow of Katherine’s family, friends, and colleagues as they navigate this loss.

Katherine Dasch Obituary
Katherine C. Dasch, 85, of Sayville, NY, died on Sunday, July 5, 2026. A lifelong resident of Sayville, Katherine graduated from Sayville High School. She was a longtime member of the West Sayville Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Long Island Beach Buggy Association (LIBBA). Mrs. Dasch worked as a tax examiner with the Internal Revenue Service.

Mrs. Dasch is survived by her husband of 51 years, George, her three children, Robert Tritch of Pennsylvania, Deborah Johnson of South Carolina and Kimberly Dasch of Sayville, six grandchildren, Bobby, Brian, Tara, Sal, Kielley and Gunnison, four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Savannah, Noah and Salvatore, as well as her sister, Jean Zigrosser and her husband Jim of Bayport and their two daughters, Tammy and Robin.

Friends and relatives will gather on Sunday, July 12th, 3-6 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a religious service will be held at 5 p.m. A private cremation will follow interment of ashes will be on Tuesday, July 14th at 10:30 a.m. at Calverton National Cemetery.

A memorial page now stands in remembrance of Katherine, and the Association will mark her birthday, May 10th, each year in her memory. We hope this ongoing remembrance offers comfort to all who knew and loved Katherine.
