J. Richard Arata, 75, of Sayville, LI died on Monday, October 28, 2013. A lifelong resident of Sayville, Dick graduated from Sayville High School and later from St. Anselm’s College.

Dick was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Arata, and was raised by his aunt and uncle, James Fallon Sr and the late Maria Fallon.  He was also predeceased by his brother, Donald in 2012, and is survived by Donald’s wife, Charlene of Sayville, his nieces; Kiersten Corral and her husband John and Brittany Arata, as well as loving family and friends.

Friends and relatives will gather, Friday, November 1st, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church in Sayville and a private cremation will follow.
