Research by Erick Baumeister, III of our Historians Committee has revealed that Elizabeth C. “Bette” (Stoothoff) Erb, Class of 1948 passed away three months ago, April 8, 2023 at age 92 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Bette’s family, friends, and classmates. We will remember Bette every year on her birthday.

Coincidentally, yesterday, Steve Moline (class of 1973) completed some light restoration of Bette’s 1948 senior photo. Many thanks for the dedicated work of Erick and Steve, who have contributed greatly to the preservation of Sayville High School’s legacy.   With the efforts of our volunteer historians, Sayville High School is able to proudly look back on its past and cherish its memories for years to come.
