The passing of David A. Miller, Class of 1956

Sadly, we have lost a most amazing public servant… David A. Miller, Class of 1956.

Rayynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home published a beautiful and informative obituary;

David A. Miller, 84, a lifelong resident of West Sayville, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Dave was a 1956 graduate of Sayville High School and served in the US Navy from 1956-1959. He was a detective with the Suffolk County Police Department for nearly thirty years where he was one of the original members of the Hostage Negotiations Team and he retired out of the Sex Crimes Unit. Dave was also a 35 year member of the North Patchogue Fire Department Band, a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Sayville and a member and volunteer at the LI Maritime Museum in West Sayville.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Dianne, his two sons, Dean and his wife Sheila of Missouri and Darin and his wife Ann Marie of Rockaway Park, his five grandchildren, Courtney, Sarah, Cameron, Sabella and Matthew, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives will gather on Saturday, April 29th, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a religious service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
