1951 - 2024 | Obituary & Service Details

Robert Kenneth Peiser
March 7, 1951 – December 6, 2024

Robert (Bob) Kenneth Peiser was born March 7, 1951 in Valley Stream, New York to Betty and Murray Peiser. His brother, Raymond, was 11 years older.

Bob grew up in Sayville, Long Island, graduating from Sayville High School in 1969. He graduated from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts with a Bachelor’s in Accounting in 1972.

From a young age, Bob followed in the footsteps of his brother and began running. He ran faithfully in all seasons, in all weather. He went to college on a running scholarship and later qualified for the Boston Marathon.

In later years, he took up racing again, often winning his age group. Even as a high schooler, he was known for his grit and perseverance in running, which would carry over to many other facets of his life. People would ask if he jogged, and he would quickly inform them that he ran, not jogged. It was always a part of his life.

After graduating college he lived in New Jersey and commuted to New York to work for W. R. Grace. In 1975, he moved to Dallas with that same company. In 1980, he began working in the Financial Accounting Department of Electronic Data Systems. He remained with that company until 1989. He obtained an MBA, his CPA, and a JD in taxation throughout his career.

Bob grew up attending the Lutheran Church. However, when he was 27 years old, he visited Grace Bible Church in Dallas, TX, and for the first time he heard the true Gospel. As a result, he put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. He was baptized many years later when his oldest daughter, Laura, was also baptized.

In 1980, he was awarded his MRS. when he married Alice Toalson. They met in a “career class“ at Grace Bible Church. This would inspire Bob and Alice many years later to begin a young professionals ministry at their church. During those six years of ministry, a new generation of singles made lifelong friendships, and some of those friendships resulted in marriages.

While Bob and Alice lived in Dallas, they had their three daughters, Laura, Anna Grace, and Alyssa. In 1989, the family moved to Des Moines, Iowa for Bob to attend law school at Drake University. Their son, Lucas, was born in 1992 while living there.

After graduation, Bob took a job in Lamar, Missouri as a CFO of a startup company for two years before moving to Northwest Arkansas. He bought into the Jerry Cherry CPA firm. After working with several excellent partners, he transitioned to working solo and owned PEISER CPA until he retired in 2022.

Through each move and change, Bob and Alice were faithful to join a church and become involved. Whether it was men’s ministry, early morning prayer breakfasts, serving as deacon and treasurer, adult Sunday School teacher, children’s ministry, young adults or teens, he always served and poured into the lives of those around him. From the time he lived in Dallas until his passing, he most often served with the three year olds and was faithful to be there nearly every week. They loved “Mr. Bob.”

Bob worked hard and tirelessly through multiple tax seasons when he would often finish the season working 100 hour weeks. His willingness to work hard resulted in not only providing for his family but for others. Throughout the years, Bob and Alice’s home was open as friends, students, and missionaries would stay or live with them for periods of time. Bible studies were hosted and various events such as wedding proposals, rehearsal dinners, various kinds of showers took place in their home.

Bob was a champion of life and the unborn and spent many years on the board of a Christian adoption agency.

One of his greatest joys was his 12 grandchildren. He taught them many games and songs, did silly dances, built many a block tower, and read countless books. He was known as “Bop,” and all the grandkids loved to meet him when they saw him outside as he came or went for a walk.

He was preceded in death by his father, Murray Edward Peiser, his mother, Elizabeth Margaret Netch, his brother, Raymond Peiser and his sister, Lorraine Peiser. He is survived by his wife, Alice, his four children Laura (Nick) Rousey, Anna Grace (Nick) Graves, Alyssa (Jimmy) Antz, and Lucas (Lauren) Peiser as well as thirteen grandchildren. Natalie, Norah, Nicky, and Nathaniel Rousey. Vivienne, Lewis, and Alice Graves. Annalee, Asher, Josephine, and Lucy Antz. Francis and Cypress Peiser.

Bob’s relationship with the Lord and his relationships with family and friends were the most important things to Bob. On December 6, 2024, at the age of 73, Bob finished his earthly race and passed the finish line into glory. We know he heard Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” on his arrival Home.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
