In Memoriam: Josephine Mary (Shone) Dobbins

Josephine Mary (Shone) Dobbins, a member of the Sayville High School Class of 1958, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Holbrook. She was 85.

Born September 14, 1940, to Charles and Josephine Shone, she grew up with her siblings Charles, Geraldine, and Walter. In 1961 she married Kenneth Dobbins; they shared more than 60 years together.

Her obituary notes she passed peacefully in her sleep after battling dementia for a number of years. A visitation was held April 13 at the Joseph A. Weber Funeral Home in Lake Ronkonkoma, with a Mass of Christian Burial April 14 at Good Shepherd R.C. Church in Holbrook and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram.
