Joseph C. Sanc
Sayville High School — Class of 1950

It is with great sadness that the Sayville High School Alumni Association shares the news of the passing of Joseph C. Sanc, Class of 1950. Joseph passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Barre, Massachusetts, at the age of 93.

Born on August 22, 1932, in Roosevelt, New York, Joseph was the son of Victor and Lillian (Zvonik) Sanc and brother of Victor and Vincent.

For those of us who cherish the history and traditions of Sayville High School, the passing of another member of the Class of 1950 is a reminder of how many lives, friendships, stories, and memories have grown from the halls of our school. Joseph was part of a remarkable generation of Sayville graduates whose school years became an important part of a lifetime of experiences.

Joseph also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. We are especially grateful for his service and for the role he played in protecting our nation during a difficult and important chapter in American history.

Today, we pause to remember Joseph not simply as a name in our alumni records, but as a fellow alumnus who shared a place in the long and continuing story of Sayville High School. Although the years have passed since the Class of 1950 walked across the stage, the connection created by those school days remains.

We remember. We honor. We will not forget.

The Sayville High School Alumni Association extends its heartfelt condolences to Joseph’s family, friends, former classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May the memories of his life, his years at Sayville High School, and his service to our country bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
