My best friend from HS, David Smale (class of 77 at SHS) has written 35 books in the last few decades. Most are about sports history and/or biographies. However he recently published his first attempt at fiction called, The Art of Trusting Your Gut. 

Sayville is mentioned prominently and positively in the book, as one of the main characters moves to the area to get a fresh start in life away from the stress and temptations of Brooklyn. David shared it with me before it got published, and I loved it!

David is thinking about coming back to Sayville for a possible “meet and greet” and book-signing party in the fall. The date is to be determined, based on the type of response the idea gets. I would love to hear if you’d be interested in attending and buying a copy of the book.
