A “History Mystery” is solved!  We finally found Mary Russo, Class of 1930!   And, in the process, found her brother Joseph B. Russo, who was in the graduating class of 1934.

By all accounts, it appeared the Russo family moved to NJ around 1940, as all the younger siblings, although students in the Sayville school system as chronicled in the Suffolk County News, did not graduate from Sayville High.

Mary Russo was elusive!  But, eventually, we found Joseph Russo and later, found a terrific Fact-filled obituary.   Joseph’s obituary actually mentioned the family moving from Sayville to NJ in 1940.  It contained correct names for siblings including one unusual name – Palmer J. Russo and low and behold — there was our Mary;  she was now Mary (Russo) Bahto!

I want to especially thank Janet (Donadio) Cozza for once again providing so much assistance with genealogical research.
