Thorfrid came from a large family. She was born to Margareth and Hans Hansen of Lake Ronkonkoma.

After Sayville High, she worked at A. C Edwards as a stenographer.

In 1944, as a Suffolk County News Article describes, Thorfrid as the “Third Star in the Hansen Flag” during WWII, with two brothers already serving.

Thorfrid married Laddie Raymond Johnson (1917–1989) on 22Jul1948 in Great Falls, Cascade, Montana. Together, they had two daughters and a son.

We will remember Thorfrid on the Sayville High Veteran’s Wall of Honor and every year on her birthday, February 11th.
