The passing of Gloria Jean (Attanasio) Johnson
Class of 1951. Age 91.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Gloria Jean (Attanasio) Johnson, a distinguished member of the Class of 1951, on October 2, 2024,

Gloria was born May 6, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony, and Anna Attamasio.  She had a brother, Ralph.  

Gloria married her Sayville High sweetheart, James Warren Johnson (SHS’52) in 1955. 

James, who shared 66 beautiful years of love and companionship in marriage, sadly passed away on August 17, 2021, at the age of 87. James and Gloria are both buried in Saint Ann’s Cemetery, Sayville. 

We extend our sincere sympathies to Gloria’s family, friends, and classmates. 

A memorial page has been established and the Sayville Alumni Association will remember Gloria every year on her birthday.

We hope that remembering Gloria on her birthday will help bring some comfort to those who knew and loved her.
