It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Richard John “Rich” Couch on February 1, 2025.

Rich was a proud member of the SHS Class of 1965.

While we do not yet have details regarding his services or an obituary, we do know that his loss will be profoundly felt by the many friends he made during his time at SHS. Rich remained closely connected with his classmates for nearly 60 years, cherishing and nurturing the friendships that were so important to him. His warmth, kindness, and enduring bonds with those who knew him will be dearly missed. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His classmates have stated that Rich was “A truly wonderful classmate and friend”.  He was a warm and genuine presence in the lives of so many.

Over the years, he made a special effort to maintain SHS connections, staying in touch with classmates and friends, bridging the gaps of time and distance with his kindness and unwavering support. His presence on social media was not just active but meaningful—he shared memories, celebrated milestones, and offered words of encouragement to those who needed them.

His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by the many alumni and friends whose lives he touched. He will be truly missed, but his legacy of friendship and connection will live on in our hearts.
