Mixed emotions looking at this, close friends for 50 years, this was a tough loss. On the other hand we have so many good memories both alone and with family gatherings. Still being friends with his wife and family dulls some of the pain. We sure do miss him. 🥲

Remembering Sally Ann (Silliman) Bishop, Sayville High Class of 1947 on today her birthday, January 7.
Sally Ann Silliman Bishop, 89, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019, at The Manor in Morrisville. She was born January 7, 1930 in Bay Shore, New York, the daughter of Grover Asa Silliman and Gertrude Ada Herring Silliman. She married her high school sweetheart, Gilbert David Bishop on August 29, 1953, in Sayville, New York and he predeceased her on September 17, 1978.
She was a Medical Secretary, Preschool Director then worked for a number of years as a Computer Programmer for Suffolk County, Long Island before retiring. She enjoyed knitting afghans and sweaters for her children and grandchildren and cross-stitching. She was an avid sports fan- New York Mets, NY Giants, NY Knicks, and becoming a Boston Celtics fan. She was born and lived in Sayville, New York until she moved to Connecticut in 2017 and then to Elmore, Vermont in 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Bishop Welker (Sayville Graduate) and her husband Christopher, of Willoughby, Ohio; son, David Scott Bishop (Sayville, Class of 1976) and his fiancée, Gina Tedesco, of Garland, Texas; and daughter, Allison Bishop Turkowski (Sayville Graduate) and her husband John, of Elmore, Vermont. She is also survived by her six grandsons, three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Remembering Darryl A. Burrer, Sayville High Class of 1980 on today his birthday, January 6.
Daryl A. Burrer July 3, 2019 Daryl A. Burrer, 57, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully at his home on July 3, 2019 surrounded in love by his wife and children.
Born in Ohio, he graduated from Sayville High School in Long Island, NY. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Binghamton University and a Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After his Masters he spent 18 months in Japan teaching English as a second language. Daryl retired from Liverpool School District June 2018 after 30 years where he taught AP Economics and Government.
He was also the advisor for Academic Decathlon for many years. He was an excellent teacher who was well-respected by his former students and colleagues. Many thanks to them for their generous love and support during this difficult time. He had a love of travel and the outdoors, National Parks and historic places being favorites. Many vacations were spent in Maine and the Outer Banks in NC. He, his wife and children were also quite fond of cruises of which they took many.
But probably his greatest joy was time spent cheering on his son and daughter at their sport events. He was a Baldwinsville Youth Soccer Association coach (BYSA) for both his son and daughter for many years. He spent countless hours at the park tossing baseballs with his son and practicing soccer skills with his daughter. His proudest moments were when his son's club soccer team won State cup and his daughter's varsity soccer school team won the State championship.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Christine McElwain Burrer; his children Alexander Richard Burrer and Leah Carolyn Burrer of Baldwinsville; parents Richard L and Donna J Burrer of Ocala Florida and Baldwinsville; sisters Diane ( Michael) Eubank of Baldwinsville, NY and Darleen (Toby) Hopkins of Dalonega, GA; nieces Megan Eubank and Michelle Eubank of Baldwinsville; nephews Jacob Hopkins and Josh Hopkins of Dalonega, GA and Derek McElwain of Massena, NY; brothers in-law Brian (Rebecca) McElwain and John McElwain.
The Burrer family would like to express sincere gratitude to the love and support from the Liverpool teachers, U16 SDA club soccer team, girls Baldwinsville varsity soccer team and family friends. Your outpouring of love has been felt by all of us. As per Daryl's wishes, services will be kept private for family and close friends.
