The passing of Robert "Bob" Peiser
Class of 1969.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sorrowful news of the passing of a true Sayville Sports Champion, Robert “Bob” Peiser, from the Class of 1969.

Bob passed suddenly on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Bob was not only a Suffolk County Champion in the two-mile track event but also excelled as a Suffolk County Cross Country Champion, leaving a remarkable legacy in the world of athletics.

Our deepest condolences go out to Bob’s family, friends, teammates, classmates, and teachers during this difficult time.

We will provide updates regarding memorial services as soon as we have more information.

In honor of Bob, a memorial page has been created, and the Sayville Alumni Association will commemorate him each year on his birthday. We hope that this annual remembrance will offer solace to all who cherished him.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to his track teammate, David Ort (Class of ’69), for bringing this tragic news to our attention. David has been in touch with Bob’s wife, Alice, and is still grappling with the shock of losing a friend with whom he maintained regular contact through weekly emails, including just days before Bob’s passing.

From Bob's website (http://bobpeisercpa.com)

“Bob Peiser was born in Sayville, New York. Growing up, he was an avid runner and went to Bentley College in Massachusetts on a running scholarship to study accounting. He obtained his CPA license in 1982, and he has been an accounting professional ever since.

After working in New York City, he transferred to Dallas, Texas and received his M.B.A at Dallas University. There he met his wife, Alice. In 1989, the family moved to Des Moines, Iowa so Bob could attend law school at Drake University. After graduating he took a position as controller in Lamar, Missouri.

After nearly 3 years, they moved to Springdale, Arkansas in 1996 where Bob became a partner in a local CPA firm. He has been practicing in the Springdale area ever since. Bob still enjoys running, being very involved at his church, New Heights in Fayetteville, and spending time with his wife, 4 children, and 4 grandchildren.”
